Dear God, Forgive us our Lapses!

A Pentecostal church embracing ideas from the Church of Scientology? Nah. Can’t be true, right?
Wrong. A recent CNN article reports that pastors of at least two churches, Glorious Church of God in Christ of Tampa, Florida and Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church of Houston, Texas, have incorporated ideas from Scientology into their ministry.
Why on earth would a man of God do this? According to the Rev. Charles Kennedy, of the Tampa church, the Scientologist beliefs (which he states are backed up in Scripture) are “easier to understand and clearer to follow than ancient Scriptures taken from the Bible.” (CNN.com)
So, because the Scriptures require an education and a brain to understand, then why doesn’t he teach his congregation to understand it? That’s nothing more than a cop-out, and a dangerous one at that.
This reinforces the need for Christian pastors and ministers to have a solid grounding in TRUE Biblical theology, so they can teach the same to their flock.
“1But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.” 2 Peter 2:1-3
WAKE UP CHURCH! THIS IS NOT A GAME. THIS IS NOT ABOUT FEELING GOOD, OR BEING COMFORTABLE! THIS IS ABOUT THE ETERNAL DESTINY OF YOUR FELLOW HUMANS!
God forgive me all the times I have failed to stand for the truth.
